Alot has been happening in the payerverse lately. Here are a few things that have come across my desk lately.
- UHC is converting the plan formerly know as Unison/UHC of Ohio to use payer ID 87726. This was supposed to have happened on 4/1 but it’s been rescheduled. I’m still waiting on a firm date from UHC. I’ll pass it along when they respond.
- New Hampshire Medicaid changed fiscal agents on 4/1 and there are new enrollment requirements through Xerox. If you’re using an eligibility vendor for New Hampshire eligbility, you may not be able to run transactions for a few more days.
- Amerigroup of Virginia was bought by Inova last year. They started operating as a stand alone health plan on 3/1. Make sure your payer IDs and contact info is up to date. Please see the notice they sent out below. https://providers.amerigroup.com/Public%20Documents/VAVA_Claimssubmissionchange.pdf
- Medi-Cal officially stopped accepting legacy provider IDs yesterday. You must have a valid NPI and Pin combination on file to run any EDI transactions.
Site Updates
I just revamped the Medicare contractors list to show the contractors by state. I’m also going to add a list by the contractor name.
I added the most recent Medicare Advantage plan lists to the Tool page.
